Olivine

Olivine
Gem & Tonic Gemstones
Olivine is rich in magnesium, a trace element that plays a crucial role in major biological processes. The magnesium complex we use in our products helps tired and stressed skin to regain vitality and restore its energetic balance. At Gem & Tonic, we use Olivine in our beautiful Boost & Protect: Energising Body Lotion, which is an all-over body solution designed to boost, protect and revive your skin.
Every Gem & Tonic product is enriched with natural gemstone extracts, specially selected for their proven, multi-action benefits. The gemstones in our products are sustainably sourced from the earth and are COSMOS certified by ECOCERT.
The latest technology enables the extraction of gemstone minerals so they can be made bioavailable to the skin. The stones go through a grinding process to create a powder, which then goes through a unique extraction process to extract the trace minerals the stones contain. These minerals are then stabilised to remain soluble in water, which forms the extracts we then include in our formulations.

Olivine: The Gem of Renewal and Vitality
Olivine is a gemstone that radiates a vibrant green glow. With its fresh, earthy energy, it has been celebrated for centuries as a symbol of renewal, growth, and vitality. Today, Olivine is admired both for its striking beauty and for the uplifting energy it brings to wellness and self-care.
A Gem with an Ancient Legacy
Olivine has a fascinating history. Ancient Egyptians called it the “gem of the sun,” believing it carried the warmth and power of sunlight. It was worn as a protective amulet to ward off evil spirits and promote prosperity. During the Crusades, it was brought back to Europe and often set in church treasures, symbolizing purity and divine connection.
Unlike many gemstones that form deep in the Earth’s crust, Olivine is found closer to the surface and even in volcanic rocks, giving it a direct connection to the raw energy of the Earth.
